Preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and patrons

Interacting with customers, taking orders and serving snacks, meals and drinks

Assessing bar customers’ needs and preferences and making recommendations

Keeping all work and customer areas clean and tidy
Communication skills, by listening to customers, engaging and building a rapport with them and by dealing with challenging people and situations. Experience of working under pressure including managing a workload at busy times.
Developing an understanding of customer needs and using this knowledge to improve the business, for example, passing on or responding to customers requests and suggestions.
Building a commercial awareness and the experience of working in a commercial environment
Working with regulations such as health and safety and licensing laws, and making sure that colleagues understand them
You do not necessarily need any experience but you do need to be able to demonstrate that you are a great team player as well as being able to work unsupervised during busy times and keen to learn.
Commis chef/trainee
HOURS: Full Time only
AGE: 16+
HOURS: Min 50 per week
SALARY: Min £12,000 depending on age & experience

We are seeking a commis chef to come and join our busy team here. You must be a great team player and have the ability to stay calm whilst working in the high-pressured environment of a busy kitchen.
The working week will be 5 days and include split shifts during the week.
Your role will be assist our starter and dessert chef and head chef. Preparation is the key and you’ll need to make sure that your section is always ready for the next service and that the highest standards of quality and standards are maintained. The successful applicant for this role will deliver excellent customer service, have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, be willing to learn and show that they care.
Other essential requirements:

Previous experience in a similar environment preferred but not essential.
